Zilong Xie is the director of the Hearing and Aging Research (HEAR) Lab. He completed his Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Texas at Austin and is an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Science and Disorders at Florida State University.

 

Anya Chatani is an undergraduate research assistant in the HEAR Lab.

Lauren Fletcher is an undergraduate research assistant in the HEAR Lab. She is from Boca Raton, Florida and is currently majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Florida State University. She has a passion for helping people globally and is interested in the medical aspect of speech-language pathology. She is involved in the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, Delta Gamma, Best Buddies, and volunteers at Rise and Shine. She enjoys being outside, doing yoga, traveling, cooking, and volunteering on her free time.

 

Grace Frerking is an undergraduate research assistant in the HEAR Lab.

 

Katie Hannum is a graduate research assistant in the HEAR Lab. She is currently a first-year graduate student here at Florida State University. She is pursuing her master's degree in speech-language pathology and is passionate about working with individuals with hearing loss.

 

Brennan Hetrick is an undergraduate research assistant in the HEAR Lab. He is from Jacksonville, Florida and is majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. He is currently on the executive board for American Sign Language Club and loves to be involved with outreach within the Deaf community. Following undergraduate years, his goal is to pursue a Doctorate in Audiology.

 

Hayley Krush is an undergraduate research assistant in the HEAR Lab. She is from Jacksonville, Florida. She is majoring in Communication Science and Disorders and minoring in Biological Science, with a goal of applying to graduate school for a Doctorate in Audiology.

Allison Matula is an undergraduate research assistant in the HEAR Lab. She is from the suburbs of Chicago and is currently an undergraduate at Florida State University. She is majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders and minoring in Child Development. She has a passion for sign language and Deaf Culture, which inspired her to pursue a career as an audiologist. She is involved in Signing Seminoles American Sign Language Club, the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, the Student Academy of Audiology, and Chi Omega. She enjoys exercising, reading, and listening to podcasts in her free time.

 

Olivia Rickett is a graduate research assistant in the HEAR Lab.

 

Antonia Ricelli is an undergraduate research assistant in the HEAR Lab.

 

Autumn Toler is an undergraduate research assistant in the HEAR Lab. She is a sophomore at Florida State University studying communication science and disorders. She will apply to graduate school to pursue a Doctorate in Audiology at the end of this year. She is interested in research that focuses on geriatrics and cochlear implants.
